Betty L. Montgomery

Betty Montgomery, 97, passed away December 13, 2025 at Montezuma Specialty Care in Montezuma, Iowa.

A lifelong resident of Des Moines, Betty was born March 4, 1928, to Russell and Chloe Marshall. She retired from Northwestern Bell, where Betty was a proud worker and won great friends going back to the 1950s.

Betty is survived by her sons, William (JoAnne) Montgomery and Rick (Susan) Montgomery; and her grandsons, Maxwell, Adam and Jackson Montgomery. She has 14 devoted nieces and nephews, plus their spouses and grown children.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Charles Montgomery, Sr.; and her sons, Roger Montgomery and Charles “Dale” Montgomery, Jr.

Visitation will be held on Monday, December 29, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. with the memorial service to follow at 12:00 p.m. at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street. Betty will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Honorary pallbearers: All who loved her, and that’s far too many to list.
