Brian Wallace

Brian Wallace, 58, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 9, 2026 at Mercy Hospital where he was surrounded by his wife, daughter, and mother.

He was born July 8, 1967 in Eldora, Iowa to his parents Dana and Sherry (Montz) Wallace. At the age of 2, the family was residing in Biloxi, Mississippi and survived Hurricane Camille. The family moved to Bondurant, Iowa and Brian graduated from Bondurant-Farrar High School in 1985.

He was a dedicated worker and spent over 30 years working at Casey’s General Stores Corporate Office in various roles from payroll to store operations to IT.

In 1994, Brian married Kimberly and they honeymooned in Las Vegas. They spent 31 wonderful years together and continued to travel to Las Vegas almost yearly. Brian and Kimberly spent most of their marriage being continually tested by the vow of in sickness and in health.

In 1995, their daughter Kennedy was born. Brian was a great “girl dad”. He went to every dance recital, spending hours and sometimes whole weekends at dance competitions and also cheering from the stands for his cheerleader.

Brian has a lifelong love of baseball. He enjoyed playing on the field and in the streets of his neighborhoods growing up. The Cincinnati Reds were his favorite team, especially the hey day of the Big Red Machine. Among some of Brian’s favorite trips, were going to the Great American Ballpark, meeting his idol Pete Rose, and visiting the Reds Hall of Fame. He also had a passion for cheering on the Iowa Hawkeyes. Tailgating and going to football games at Kinnick or any of the surrounding Big 10 stadiums was one of his favorite ways to spend a Saturday. He also enjoyed golfing, playing Rook or Pit, watching a multitude of sports, sitting in the garage on “neighborhood watch”, or vacationing to the Emerald Coast in Florida. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his friends and family.

He is survived by his wife, Kimberly; daughter, Kennedy (Kyle) Roode; grandsons, Christopher Roode and Collin Roode; mother, Sherry Wallace; brother, David (Melonie) Wallace; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and in-laws.

Brian was preceded in death by his father, Dana Wallace; and his grandparents.

Family will greet friends from 5:00 to 8:00 on Thursday, February 19, 2026 at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue in Des Moines. Celebration of Life will take place at 10:00 a.m. the following day Friday, February 20, 2026 also at the funeral home.
