Brian Foust

Brian Foust, 62, of Des Moines, passed away Sunday, March 15, 2026, at the University of Iowa Hospital.

He was born December 22, 1963 in Des Moines to David and Helen Foust. He graduated from Lincoln High School and had lived on the Southside of Des Moines all his life.

Brian served in the United States Navy for four years. He was a hard worker who always showed up for those who needed him. Brian was a semi-truck driver for most of his life. He drove for Casey’s General Store for 27 years, and was very proud of his work.

When Brian was not working, he was living life to the fullest. His family was his world. He loved treating the kids, setting up the annual Halloween Bonfire, and buying fireworks for the fourth of July. Brian enjoyed being outdoors, camping, and fishing. He was a prankster and always had a grin on his face.

Brian was preceded in death by his parents; and brother-in-law, John.

He is survived by his siblings, Glenda (Lester) Statler, Vicki Foust, and Debbie Brown; eleven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews, Randy, Ron (Shellie), Robin (Brian), Ryan (Kassie), Edward, and Philip (Kristine); four grand nieces and nephews; chocolate lab, Leo; the Lowe family; close friends, Don, Pat and Jim; and a host of friends and family.

The family will be greeting friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 26, 2026, at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home; 5400 SW 9th Street, Des Moines.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center in Iowa City, in honor of Brian.
