Candice G. Bacon
December 11, 1955 — July 15, 2025
Candice Gale Bacon, age 69, passed away peacefully while under hospice care on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at Valley View Village in Des Moines.
Candice was born December 11, 1955, in Oakland, California. In addition to California, Candice was a resident of Memphis, Tennessee for eight years, prior to settling in the Des Moines area. Candice loved crafting and designed beautiful creations with stamping, card making, and scrap booking. She was a wonderful baker, and of course enjoyed sampling the goodies she made. She was a woman of strong faith, which especially developed in her adult years. She was an active member of New Heights Church for many years.
Candice is survived by her loving husband of 36 years, Kenneth Bacon; daughters, Darcy Bacon, Sarah (Matthew) Alford, and Shannon (Jason) Vance; grandchildren, Jeromy, Jessica, Juliana, Candice, Frances, Joseph, and Kaylee; three great-grandchildren; sisters, Deborah Waring and Lynne (Richard) Flagler; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and many special friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Reginald and Ella Ross and Betty Grigsby; and her siblings Michael Ross and Michele McMillen.
A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, July 20, 2025, at Valley View Village Chapel, 2571 Guthrie Avenue, Des Moines.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in honor of Candi may be directed to the patio project at Valley View Village. Candi was a shining star in our family. We all have so many memories of the family picnics that brought us all together. She was fun and creative and authentic. Our condolences to Ken and all her family. She will be sorely missed.

Oh Candi, although I haven’t seen you in many years the times we shared when we were young are fresh in my mind! You were such a vibrant soul. I will miss you. My thoughts and prayers are with your family. Especially your girls.. 🙏🏻💞
