Cindy was born November 5, 1947, in Des Moines, Iowa to Chesley B. and Lorraine Waterman. She attended North High School in Des Moines and graduated in 1965. She also attended Central Missouri State in Warrensville, Missouri. Cindy worked in the insurance business as an agent for over 30 years. She was one of the first women in Iowa to own a Shelter Insurance Agency. Cindy was a member of Highland Park Presbyterian Church where she served on the session, worked with the youth group, taught Sunday School, served on the pastoral search committee, and provided many family night dinners.
In 1973 she married Chuck in Des Moines, Iowa. They were married for 52 wonderful years. A daughter, Elizabeth, was born in 1983. Chuck and Cindy were inseparable, often travelling on trips she earned as a sales agent. They went to England, France, Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, and Switzerland. They also travelled all over the United States.
Cindy was an excellent bowler in her early years. Throughout her life, Cindy was an avid reader and always had a book in hand. Cindy and Chuck made many trips to southern Missouri where they enjoyed fishing. For Chuck and Cindy, almost every morning began with a cup of coffee outside enjoying nature. Cindy loved time with her family and sisters, and deeply enjoyed time with her grandson, Isaac.
Those impacted by Cindy’s loving and generous spirit who have gone before her include her parents and her sister, Lorrie. Those surviving her are her husband, Chuck, her daughter, Liz (Antonio), her favorite grandson, Isaac, her sister, Gwen Eaton (Steve) of Lincoln, Nebraska and her sister, Veronica Waterman of West Des Moines.

Mom, I will love you forever and ever. Although my heart is shattered, I am so blessed to have had quite possibly the most amazing Mom.

Chuck and Liz, Gary and I are heartbroken. Cindy was such a huge part of my life as you know. We shared so many good times and conversations, phone calls, visits to each other's homes, a wedding or 2, births of our daughters and grands. She truly was my Iowa sister. Hugs to both of you. Robin and I are trying to make arrangements to be there. Please know we have thought of you so much in the past few days. I loved Cindy for 60 years.
