Christine “C.C.” Hensley, age 76, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, with her family by her side while under the care of hospice.

Christine was born December 11, 1948, to Andrew and Dorothy Beasley in Des Moines, Iowa. She was one of three children, along with her brother Jim and her sister Karen.

She was spunky and had a larger than life personality, which earned her the nickname C.C. for “Crazy Chris”. She was strong and a survivor. She overcame whatever came her way. C.C. was an artist and seamstress, sewing all of her children’s Halloween costumes growing up. She was a builder and a very talented all-around crafter. C.C. was an avid Skip-Bo Player and her favorite pastime was playing pool and she also participated on a pool league, all with an ice-cold beer in her hand.

Above all, her most cherished title was Grandma and she loved every second she spent with her grandkids. She was the best gardener in town and very resourceful, saving seeds and passing them down to carry on the tradition. C.C. laughed freely and loudly, loved having fun, dancing, and loving herself and others unconditionally. She was humble, sassy, and straightforward.

She is survived by her children, Doug Hensley, Lisa Freeman (John), and Mitzi Odegaard; twelve grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and her nieces, Kim, Vickie, CharLe Jo, and Kelly Jo.

Christine was preceded in death by her daughter, Sheila Hensley; parents, Andrew and Dorothy Beasley; siblings, Karen Jo Crooks and James “Jim” Beasley; cousin, Barbara Edwards; and her nephew, Jeff Meyer.

There will be a celebration of life at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to the family in loving memory of C.C.
