Cleo V. Immel

Cleo V. Immel, age 81, passed away Friday, November 28, 2025.

Cleo was born June 7, 1944, in Des Moines, Iowa to John and Hattie (Dresser) Oxley.

She enjoyed playing bingo, cribbage, and working on puzzles. Cleo was also a devoted fan of Neil Diamond and Elvis Presley, and she loved watching Chuck Norris movies. She wasn’t the best of cooks, but loved to eat.

She is survived by her children, Julie Lilly (Dave), Jill Immel (Stefan), David Immel, and John Immel; grandchildren, Shellagh Immel (Bravo), Maranda Dress (Jake), Michael Lilly (Mary), and Anicah Lilly; great-grandchildren, Kyler, Raelynn, and Kohen; brothers, Leroy Oxley (Nancy) and Chuck Oxley (Sally); as well as many niece, nephews, other extended family and friends.

Cleo was preceded in death by her parents, John and Hattie Oxley; and her siblings, Bob Oxley, Cora Van Houten, Mary Bennett, Wanda Anderson, and Karen Miller.

There will be a celebration of life at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to the Food Bank of Iowa.
