A Life remembered…

Cheryl Anne (Struble) Ross, 70, of Altoona passed away on July 31, 2025 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on July 30, 1955, to Lowell and Edith (Craft) Struble of Des Moines, Iowa.

She grew up on the east side of Des Moines and attended East High School where she met her husband, Mike. She graduated in1973 and married her love and soul mate on September 22nd of that year. They were blessed with two children a son, Scott and a daughter Brandy. She loved watching all their activities.

Cheryl has always been in the medical field as either an office assistant or a medical billing specialist from 1975 through her retirement from Orchard Place in 2021.

She was part of the Does Drove #25 within the Elks Lodge #98. She was president in 2006 along with multiple other roles. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, traveling, camping, working the ticket booth at the State Fair and especially enjoyed their time in Florida.

Cheryl is survived by her husband, Mike; her son, Scott (Brandi); brothers, Michael (Michelle) Struble and Dennis (Teri) Struble; grandchildren, Paige VanderWeide, Brandon (Emily), Nicholas (Lauren), Dawson, Parker (Leah) Ross; three great grandchildren, Denver, Dion Green, Kane Ross; and many more family members.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her daughter, Brandy.

Family will greet guests on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue, Des Moines. Funeral service will take place at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, also at the funeral home. Cheryl will be laid to rest following her funeral at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery in Des Moines.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the family so they can distribute to organizations of her wishes.
