Carl E. Brugioni

Carl Edward Brugioni, 83, passed away peacefully under hospice care in the comfort of his home on Tuesday, July 7, 2026.

Carl was born July 19, 1942, in Des Moines, Iowa to Melio and Esther Brugioni. After graduation, he served in the United States Army. Carl was an iron worker and owned S&H Electric. He married his wife Diana on May 2, 1965, and to this union, three children were born – Nona, Bob, and Tricia.

Carl’s passion was cars. He loved attending Good Guys car shows and was always working on his own cars. It was a skill he shared with his daughter Tricia. Carl was self-sufficient and always wanted to do things himself. He could fix or figure out almost anything. He enjoyed watching wrestling and was a weekly fan of WWE.

Carl is survived by his daughter Tricia and grandchildren Amanda and Thomas.

He was preceded in death by his wife Diana, daughter Nona, and son Bob.

Visitation will begin at 10:30 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 11:30 a.m., Thursday, July 16, 2026, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Burial with military honors will take place at Laurel Hill Cemetery following the funeral.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to the Animal Rescue League of Iowa.
