Christopher Seastrand

Christopher Seastrand, 58, passed away Sunday, August 2, 2026, at his home in Grimes.

Chris was born March 13, 1968, in DeWitt, Iowa to Janet Seastrand. He was raised in DeWitt and has been a resident of the Des Moines area for the past 15+ years. He worked as a representative for Blue Cross Blue Shield.

Chris was an amazing father. He loved his son and was always ready to spend time with him and to offer words of advice. One particularly memorable piece of wisdom that he shared was to always choose peace over violence. Some of their favorite pastimes were playing video games, watching movies, and taking road trips, especially to the Mall of America in Minnesota.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Janet Fuller and his aunt and uncle, Trudy and Dennis McFall. Chris is survived by his only son, Dale Seastrand; wife, Connie Seastrand; step-son, Reagan Penning; and his brothers, Edward, Matt, and Bobby Seastrand.
