Cynthia "Cindy" Marie Austin
September 11, 1966 — July 10, 2026
Cynthia Marie Austin “Cindy” was born September 11, 1966 in Long Beach, CA at St. Mary’s hospital to her parents Vince and Toni Munoz.
Cindy lived in Long Beach, CA for a short time until she moved to Westminster in 1968. The family later moved to Lake Forest in 1977. Cindy enjoyed trips to Lake Shasta and camping in the Sequoias with her family. We all enjoyed a great houseboat trip to Lake Powell, sleeping under the stars, skiing, grilling, and generally having a great time together as a family. Cindy lived in Lake Forest off and on into her mid-twenties when she moved to Fullerton, then later to Corona, to Riverside and the Inland Empire. She enjoyed sky diving with Shelly and others during which time she had at least 500 jumps. She thoroughly enjoyed a couple years with her Grandma Myrle in Arizona.
Cindy met Rob Austin July 13, 2006. They were married two years later on November 15, 2008 and settled in Yucca Valley, CA in 2012 where they had a beautiful home. Rob and Cindy enjoyed working on projects for their home. Cindy enjoyed artwork (much of the family thought she should be a professional artist but she enjoyed doing it as a hobby), Cindy and Rob enjoyed road trips, visiting family, especially her Dad’s house in Murrieta, CA. She thoroughly enjoyed working in a Veterinary office for many years due to her love for animals. She loved spending time in her art room painting. She also enjoyed crafts, baking, cake decorating, and making yule log cakes. Cindy was a great cook. Andy one time won a contest at work with one of Cindy’s creations. Rob and Cindy enjoyed spending time at home with their pets Percy and Thomas, Little Bit (who they adopted from a friend) and Gracie. They loved being together, enjoying each other’s company and laughing.
Rob and Cindy moved to Adel, Iowa in 2021 where they purchased a home on one acre. They remodeled it to make it their own, including the beautiful deck with the awesome view. They enjoyed road trips, grabbing snacks at Casey’s, and exploring around the Midwest. Cindy enjoyed her most recent job at Rhiner’s Plumbing, here in the metro, where she excelled at caring for her customers.
Cindy is survived by her husband, Robert “Rob” E. Austin; brothers, Andy Munoz (Steph), and Joe Munoz (Lisette); aunts, Becky (Steve) and Esther; uncles, Dave and Jim; as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Cindy was preceded in death by her parents, Vince and Toni Munoz; grandparents, Bill Pascoe and Myrle Willoughby, Vince and Connie Munoz; uncles, Bill and Don; aunts, Jessie (Al), Eloise (Mel), Alice (Jim), Teddie (George); and many cousins.
