Cynthia “Cindy” Steward, 75, passed away July 27, 2025 at MercyOne Medical Center.

Cindy was born July 15, 1950 in Des Moines to William and Cleo (Frazier) Stanley. She graduated from Lincoln High School and was a lifelong member of “Abe’s Babes”. Cindy was a financial administrator for De Lage Landen Financial Services. She enjoyed great food and hosting gatherings around her pool with her family and friends. Cindy loved to travel, especially anywhere with a beach. She enjoyed maintaining her beautiful flower garden and spending time loving her dogs. Cindy will be remembered for her servant’s heart, her kindness, her ability to always listen, and her unwavering generosity and selflessness.

Cindy is survived by her sons, Mark Jr. (Paula) Steward and Matt (Lara) Steward; grandchildren, Tyler, Ella and Luke; beloved dogs, Dash and Milo; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Bobby and Jimmy Stanley and husband, Mark Steward Sr.

The family will greet friends Saturday, August 9, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. with the memorial service to follow at 12:00 p.m. at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street. Cindy will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
