David B. Byrkett

David Brian Byrkett, age 61, passed away Thursday, September 11, 2025.

David was born February 5, 1964, in Des Moines, Iowa to David and Norma (Guyer) Byrkett. David’s involvement with Alcoholics Anonymous brought him lifelong friendships and a strong sense of purpose. He enjoyed Big Book Study, sharing personal experiences and fostering community. David’s family and friends were very important to him and he enjoyed spending time with them.

He is survived by his brothers, Marvin Byrkett and Joel Byrkett; his nieces and nephews, Joseph, Jennifer, Jeffrey, and Summer; several aunts and uncles; a step-brother and step-sister; and a half-brother and half-sister.

David was preceded in death by his parents.

David will be laid to rest at Laurel Hill Cemetery at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 16, 2025.
