Debra J. Wallukait

Debra Jean Wallukait (Pangburn), age 73, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at Trinity Center in Des Moines while under the care of Suncrest Hospice.

Debbie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, niece, and friend. She was a passionate gardener whose love for nurturing life extended beyond the soil to every person she met. Her life was a vibrant melody of dancing, smiles, and laughter.

Born on August 5, 1952, in Mason City, Iowa to William and Sharrell (Hagen) Pangburn, Debbie’s greatest joy was spending time with loved ones and tending her garden. She lived her life as a beacon of joy, believing wholeheartedly that the world was better when we were laughing. She encouraged everyone around her to live with the same light and enthusiasm. Her contagious spirit will be profoundly missed by all who were blessed to feel her warmth.

She is survived by her husband, Dave Wallukait; children, Connie Scheff, Angela Sisco (Anthony), Michele Rajput (Alex), Monica Scott, and Matthew Wallukait (Beth); grandchildren, Hailey Sisco, Logan and Brayden Scheff, Emma and Hannah Rajput, Nate Scott, Rebecca Roth, Jack and Ellie Wallukait; three great-grandchildren; sister, Susie Pangburn; as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Debbie was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, and siblings Diane Pangburn, Lori Williams, and Gary Pangburn.

There will be a celebration of life at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to NAMI or to Alcoholics Anonymous in honor of Debbie.
