David Lamphear

David Lamphear, 69, of Indianola, passed away Friday, November 7, 2025, at Iowa Methodist Hospital.

He was born March 5, 1956 to Bernadette Scott and Ronald Lamphear. David has lived in Council Bluffs, IA; Boise, ID; Phoenix, AZ; and Indianola, IA. He was a member of the Elks Lodge for over 40 years, and was an elected Exalted Ruler four times.

David worked for MARC Chemical Sales for over 30 years, and as a bus driver for HIRTA for seven years. In his free time, David enjoyed golfing, watching sports, traveling, and playing cards, especially poker.

David was preceded in death by his father, Ronald Lamphear; stepfather, John Scott; granddaughter, Avery Lamphear; and many aunts and uncles.

He is survived by his wife, Paula Lamphear; mother, Bernadette Scott; daughters, Jessica (Ed) Gallun, Briana (Darian Thomas) Lamphear, and Alaina (Ben) Peterson; grandchildren, Izzy Richarde, Evalyn and Nora Peterson of Kansas City, KS, Raymond Thomas and Gianna Thomas of Manhattan, KS; siblings, Susan Howard, Rose Bowman, and Kathy (Mike) Hagar; siblings in law, Amy Peterson, Eve Stephens, and Joseph Sharpnack.

A celebration of life will be held on December 6, 2025, at the Council Bluffs Elks Lodge from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
