Deborah French

Deborah Ann French, 75, passed away May 12, 2026.

She was born September 12, 1950 in Norfolk, Virginia to her parents, James and Madelyn Hurdle. Deb held many retail positions throughout her life and enjoyed joyfully interacting with the community. She also worked for the Des Moines Independent School District as a teacher aids for many years.

Deb enjoyed watching tv, reading, and word puzzles. She also liked watching the birds, playing with her dogs, and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her husband, Joe French; daughter, Kathy French; sister, Carol (David) Campen; and dog, Marshall.

Deb was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Charles Hurdle.

No formal services will be held at this time.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Animal Rescue League of Iowa and/ or St. Jude Children Research Hospital in loving memory of Deb French.
