Dimitri "Gheno" Craig Lee English
June 26, 2000 — July 14, 2026
Dimitri Craig Lee English, known to most as "Gheno", passed away at the age of 26.
He was born in Des Moines, Iowa, on June 26, 2000, to his loving parents, Melissa Bruce and Dennis English. Gheno graduated from Roosevelt High School in 2018 before attending Iowa State University, where he earned his bachelor's degree in Business Management Information Systems with a minor in Leadership Studies. Following college, he moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota, where he began his career as a Securities Operations Specialist at Wells Fargo. There, he discovered a passion for numbers, data, leadership, and helping guide his team to success.
From the time he was a child, Gheno was a light in the lives of everyone who knew him. His smile—and especially his laugh—was truly contagious. Naturally athletic, he loved sports from an early age. He excelled as a pitcher in youth baseball and, in recent years, developed a love for golf. Whether he was gaming online with friends, reading a new book to expand his knowledge, traveling, playing spades & Uno, or simply spending time with family and friends, Gheno embraced life with joy, curiosity, and an unforgettable spirit.
Gheno will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him. He is survived by his mother, Melissa Bruce; his father, Dennis English; his grandmother, Joyce Bruce; his siblings, Savannah Bruce, Tomaz Bruce, Dominic Bruce, De'Angelo Wright, Yolanda (Donald) Smith, Denise English, DeArris Miller, Tiann Rife, and Brandon English; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family members who were blessed to know, grow with, and love him. He was preceded in death by his beloved grandfather, Richard Bruce, and his older brother, Dennis English Jr.
Gheno touched the hearts of countless people throughout his life. Though it is difficult to imagine a world without him, his legacy of knowledge, kindness, compassion, and warmth will continue to live on in all who knew him. He never missed an opportunity to make someone laugh, and his sense of humor will forever echo in the hearts of those who knew him. His love was unconditional, his presence unforgettable, and his impact immeasurable. As we mourn his passing, we also celebrate the extraordinary man he was and the beautiful memories he leaves behind. May we continue to uplift one another, cherish his memory, and carry his light with us always.

Gheno you blessed me with friendship back when we were 15 and have been a great friend since. This unexpected grief is heavy but knowing you are with God and left a positive imprint on so many helps. I’ll never forget our conversation on the ripped couch in college and will continue to live out your words of encouragement.
Thank you my friend and I pray that God continues to cover your family and friends <3

Losing someone is hard enough,
But when it comes suddenly and unexpectedly
It can be even tougher
Those we love don’t go away
They walk beside us every day
Unseen, unheard, but always near
Still loved, forever missed, and forever dear
We will miss your smile, laugh, love, joy, and kind spirit
More than words can ever express.
Gheno:
You left like a candle
That someone had blown out
And we were left with smoke that
stings our eyes
Yet also with the memories of how bright your light shown
Rest in Peace
