Donald C. Davidson

Donald C. Davidson, 90, of Des Moines, passed away July 7, 2026, at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Donald was born April 5, 1936 in Des Moines to Leo and Violet Davidson. He met the love of his life Sandra, they married a year later and enjoyed 66 years together. They were blessed with five children. Donald and Sandra were true partners in raising kids, building a life and starting and growing a successful business together. Don was privileged to work alongside his wife, brother, three sons, and daughter, in his businesses Don’s Auto and Truck Salvage and Don’s Rebuilders.

Don was a kind, generous, and faith filled man who demonstrated those characteristics everyday. He enjoyed working, stock car racing, tinkering with cars and trucks, staying busy on his acreage, and spending time with his family.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Sandra; his siblings, Norma (Charlie) Comegys, Bill Davidson, and Kenneth Davidson; and his daughter-in-law, Janice Davidson.

He is survived by his children, Bruce, Cathy, Pamela (Steve), Michael (Sheena), and Brad (Amy); 8 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren.

The family will be greeting friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 16, 2026, at New Hope Assembly of God; 4425 70th Street, Urbandale. Funeral services will be held following the visitation at 11:00 a.m. at New Hope Assembly of God. Donald will be laid to rest at Avon Cemetery.
