Donna Marie Hamilton, 85, passed away June 27, 2026. She was born September 3, 1940 in Denison, Iowa to her parents, Harold and Helen Wiblishhouser.
Donna was raised in the Des Moines area and graduated from East High School. She was a homemaker for many years before she went to work for Northwestern Bell. After retirement she attended DMACC for office administration.
Donna was an avid bridge player who cherished the friendships she made around the card table. She especially treasured time spent with her husband, Jim. Together they enjoyed golfing, trying their luck at the casino, traveling, and attending antique tractor shows.
Donna is survived by her daughter, Diane Hamilton; honorary son, Martin Romero; grandson, Kyle (Carla) Hamilton; great-grandchildren, Lily and Jim-Jim; sister, Pat (Jim) Pardekooper; nieces, Roxanne Pardekooper and Pam (Frank) Dunnington; and a host of other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Hamilton; son, Glenn; and parents.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, July 2, 2026 at First Church of the Open Bible, 2200 Beaver Avenue in Des Moines, with burial to follow at Altoona Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the family in loving memory of Donna.
