Donna Moore

Donna Jean Moore, 93, passed away August 5, 2026.

She was born April, 2, 1933 to Loyal and Wilma Stout in central Iowa.

Donna held various positions throughout her adult life including working at various grocery stores including Mutts, Safeway, United, Dave’s, and the United States Post Office. She was also the City Clerk Treasure in Berkley, Iowa when her husband Sonny was the mayor. She also worked at Perry Manor for many years as the head of maintenance and she supervised housekeeping and laundry.

She enjoyed reading, fishing, camping, and bowling. Donna also enjoyed gardening, canning, and cooking. She never measured anything when she would cook and made the best homemade pie. If you left Donna’s house hungry it was your own fault. She loved her dogs, Corky, Tilley, Penny, and Missy. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, George “Sonny” Moore; daughter, Connie Magner; grandson, Elijah Moore; parents; and siblings, Kathryn Kirlin, Barbara Winebrenner, and Jim Stout.

Donna is survived by her children, Linda (Jim) Hein and Jeff (Suzanne) Moore; son-in-law, Gerry Magner; grandchildren, Derek, Jessica, Darin, Melanie, Zach, and Tyler; step grandson, Gerry Jr.; 15 great grandchildren; 4 step great grandchildren; brother, Bob Stout; sister-in- law, Pauline Moore; brother-in-law, Keith (Gay) Moore; cousin, Janice Haberkorn; and many other loving family members.

Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
