Donna Jo Sherman

Donna (Wells) Sherman, 68, was born June 27, 1957 to Oscar and Betty Wells, in Des Moines, Iowa.

She attended Home Elementary Grade School, Weeks JR. High, and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1975, and had some further education. She worked for Communication Data Services (CDS) and finished her working days for the State of Iowa (D.N.R.). Donna was very talented in arts and crafts. She always had homemade Holiday and Birthday cards for all her family and friends. She was a very giving lady. She married Mike Sherman in 1976 and they had two children, Shannon and Todd.

She was preceded in death by her father, Oscar; mother, Betty; siblings, Louis “Dean” and Terry Wells; and sister-in-law, Pat.

Donna is survived by her children, Shannon and Todd; grandchild, Joe Merideth; siblings, Jan (Mark) Ramstad and Rick (Linda) Wells; and many nieces and nephews.

The family will greet friends on Thursday, May 28, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.; with the Rosary prayed at 5:00 p.m. and a time of sharing beginning at 6:30 p.m. at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, May 29, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Christ the King Catholic Church, 5711 SW 9th Street. Donna will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
