Dorothy Louise Green

Dorothy L. Green, age 101, was born on the family farm in Wayne County, Iowa on April 4, 1924. Her parents were Orval and Leta Green.

Dorothy passed away on October 25, 2025 at her residence at Wesley on Grand in Des Moines, Iowa. She previously lived in Centerville, Iowa and Ottumwa, Iowa. Her graduation from Russel Highschool was followed by nurses training at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Ottumwa, Iowa. She was a pediatric nurse at Blank Children’s Hospital during the polio epidemic.

She is survived by her brother, Dean Green; niece, Carol Green; nephew, Bruce Green and their respective spouses; grand-nieces, Rachael and Jennifer.
