Elaine Marie Maynard, 72, passed away peacefully at Taylor House Hospice surrounded by her family on Saturday, August 15, 2026.
Elaine was born August 16, 1953, in Des Moines, Iowa to Thomas and Doris Burford. Elaine traveled to Europe many times as a young woman. She appreciated art and history and was an avid reader, a gourmet cook, and loved gardening.
She is survived by her siblings, Tom (Trudy) Burford and Lori (Bryan) Fousek; nieces, Anna (Jerad) Silver and Breanna (Chad) Trujillo; nephews, Thomas R. (De) Burford and Evan (Judy) Fousek; and a host of great-nieces and great-nephews.
Elaine was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Doris Burford.
Services will be held at Hamilton’s Funeral Home on Monday, August 24, 2026. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. followed by a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. There will be a luncheon at Jasper Winery after the service.
