Fredrick Henry Drew III

Fredrick Henry Drew III, 56, passed away Tuesday, August 18, 2026. Fredrick was born May 4, 1970, in Chicago, Illinois to Fredrick Henry Drew II and JoAnn F. (Martin) Adams. He was a loyal Chicagoan and was an avid supporter of every Chicago team, except the Cubs. Fredrick loved sports and was very athletic, playing football, running track, and swimming. He graduated from Drake University with a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing and Sales. He was an ordained minister and participated in many wedding ceremonies.

Fredrick loved his family above all else and was a devoted father to his two sons. He was very outgoing and would strike up a conversation with anyone. He never met a stranger. Fredrick was very goofy and silly and had a contagious sense of humor and an infectious laugh. He enjoyed playing billiards and loved his German Shepherd, Bear. Fredrick was a great brother, uncle, and friend. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Khamla Lovan; his sons, Sebastian Drew and Fred Drew; his siblings, Debbie (Lyndell) Smith, Karen (Leroy Sr.) Bowles, Chris Drew, and Roxann Hazelwood; Aunt Marion Richardson; cousin, Alicia Witt; many nieces and nephews; and his dog, Bear and cat, Flash.

Fredrick was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents and his mother and father, JoAnn Adams and Fredrick Drew II.

Visitation will begin at 12:00 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue, Des Moines. Cremation will take place after the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the family to assist with expenses.
