Gary Lee Herrick, 87, was born February 12, 1939, in Storm Lake, Iowa, the son of David and Velma (Fahrenkrog) Herrick. He married Patricia Lee Richard on March 3, 1963, at the Little Brown Church in the Vale in Nashua, Iowa. Gary served the public faithfully for 32 years as a State Trooper, retiring as a Lieutenant.

He passed away peacefully with his wife by his side on Tuesday, April 28, 2026.

He will be lovingly remembered by his devoted wife, Patricia Herrick; his daughter, Sandra “Sandy” Herrick (Mark Bostley) and their children, Alex and Piper Bostley; and his daughter, Tonya Herrick (Don Bowers) and their children, Samantha Herrick and Jackson Bowers.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents, David and Velma Herrick.

According to Gary’s wishes, no services will be held at this time.
