Glenda Sue Thompson

Glenda Sue Thompson, 74, passed away Wednesday, June 11, 2025 at her home in West Des Moines, Iowa.

Ms. Glenda was born on October 9, 1950 to Steadman and Betty (Crumbley) Pettit in Atlanta, Georgia. She married Donny Thompson, whom proceeded her in death, and they had two children. She was a devoted Christian who loved to read and study the Bible and Bible Prophecy, adored her children, son-in-law, grandchildren, loved spending time with her immediate and extended family, sewing, doing puzzles, cooking, and loved the Florida ocean. She became a CNA and private sat with patients and worked in assisted living facilities because she had such a big heart for nurturing and caring for people.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Mattie and Michael Zanetti of Jasper County, Ga; son, Jesse Thompson of West Des Moines (originally from Conyers, Ga); granddaughters, Daisy and Charli Thompson of West Des Moines; brothers and sisters-in-law, Paul and Sandra Pettit of Lithonia, Ga; Andy and Teresa Pettit of Portal, Ga; sisters, Toni Norton of Conyers, Ga, Cindy Baker of Covington, Ga, Teresa Pettit, of Covington, Ga; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Ms. Glenda was preceded in death by her sister, Nancy Pettit; and brothers, Alvin Pettit and Timothy Pettit.
