Harold “Bob” Robert Shelton, age 80, passed away Sunday, August 17, 2025.

Bob was born July 25, 1945, in Davenport, Iowa to Harold E. and Dorothy (James) Shelton.

He proudly served his country in the United State Army and was a Vietnam Veteran. He was a very well-known Chiropractor for many years. Bob enjoyed fishing and gambling, especially at Prairie Meadows, even though he was chased down a time or two by security for speeding on his scooter! Above all else, Bob dearly treasured time with his family.

Bob is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Dena “Dee” Shelton; children, Rob (Misty) Shelton, Karmin Erwine, Darci (Mike) Bell, and Luke (Melissa) Shelton; many beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Mary (Steve) Wells; sister-in-law, Barb Tuthill; as well as many other close relatives and special friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Dorothy Shelton; and his brothers, John (Ruth) Shelton and Bill Shelton.

Visitation will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Burial with military honors will take place at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at Iowa Veterans Cemetery, 34024 Veterans Memorial Drive, Adel.
