Janice Ainsworth-Travis

Janice M. Ainsworth-Travis, age 71, of Des Moines, Iowa passed away on Monday, December 15, 2025. She was born on December 8, 1954, in Fort Totten, South Dakota. When she was 6 years old, she moved to Ludlow, Massachusetts. It was there at the age of 10 that she was led to the Lord. Janice would go on to graduate from Ludlow High School in 1973, shortly after moving to Ankeny, Iowa to attend Faith Bible College. Janice went on to work for an insurance company in the 70’s, also housekeeping along with multiple years worked as a caregiver in mainstream living and Link Associates.

She is survived by her husband, Alonzo Burl Travis; her children, Tara Lynn Mickens Smith; Benjamin Emmett Hale Jr., Curtis Eugen Hale, Cory James Hale, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren;

Janice was preceded in death by her parents, Royal and Shirley Aninsworth and grandson Dashawn Smith.

Visitation will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, January 10th, 2026, with funeral service following at 2:00 p.m., at True Bible Baptist Church.
