Jeff was born on June 7, 1960, in Newton, Iowa, to Larry and Ruth Lloyd. He was the firstborn of four sons, growing up with a natural sense of responsibility and leadership. From a young age, Jeff carried a quiet strength and a servant’s heart. He proudly served in the United States Army, instilling in him a lifelong sense of honor, discipline, and patriotism.
He married his high school sweetheart, Beverly Evans on November 13, 1982, and enjoyed 42 years of marriage.
Jeff lived in several places throughout his life, including Germany, Seattle, Washington, Newton, and ultimately Prairie City, Iowa, where he made his home with his beloved wife, Beverly Lloyd. Together, they shared a rich life grounded in faith, laughter, and enduring love, spending the last seven years living in their fifth wheel. A young father, Jeff was a devoted provider and role model, he worked hard to support his family, driving semi-trucks with pride and purpose. He also spent years at the Maytag Company and John Deere, earning the respect of his coworkers through his strong work ethic, integrity, and reliability.
Jeff was a member of Anchor Baptist Church, where he worshipped and served faithfully until his passing. He was also a proud member of the Christian Motorcyclists Association, where he combined his love of motorcycles with his passion for ministry. Riding motorcycles with his brothers was also one of his favorite pastimes. Whether riding the open road or sitting around the kitchen table, Jeff reflected the heart of Christ in all he did. Attending family camp at Ventura, Iowa (IRBC) was also a highlight of every year - spending time with his family while enjoying the relaxing week and watching his grandchildren live their best lives. He enjoyed smoking meat, mowing the lawn, and fixing his grandchildren's bikes.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Beverly; his seven children: Jeffrey “Scott” II, Jennifer Kaiser (Bryant), Kimberly Campbell, Wendy Botterbrodt (Justin), Michael (Emily), Christine Curtis (Tyler), and Nathan (Mollie); his mother, Ruth Lloyd; and his brothers: Lincoln, Garth, and John whom he loved immensely. Jeff was a proud grandfather to a growing legacy: Zachary, Tiffany, Joanna, Alissa (Levi), Micah, Colin, Madi, Kati, Bailey, Timmy, Seth, Wyatt, Miles, Amelia, Claire, Marcus, Owen, Natalie, Cody, Emily, and granddaughter, Charlotte who will be joining the family in November. His face lit up with joy whenever he spoke of them, and his love for his grandchildren was immeasurable.
Jeff was preceded in death by his father, Larry Lloyd; his niece, Morgan; his in-laws, Carl and Reatha Evans and unborn children and grandchildren.
Jeff lived a life marked by faith, love, and quiet strength. His legacy lives on through his family, his church, and the countless lives he touched. Though we mourn his passing, we rejoice in the blessed assurance that he is now at home with the Lord, fully healed and whole.
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” – 2 Timothy 4:7

Although it’s been nearly twenty years since I last saw the Lloyd family, the memory of Jeff’s warmth and kindness remains vivid in my heart. He had a smile that could light up a room, and the love he poured into his family—and the way he lived his faith—left a lasting impression on everyone blessed to know him.
The love of Christ truly shone through Jeff. His joy, his laughter, and his unwavering devotion to those he loved will never be forgotten. He leaves behind a legacy of strength, faith, and deep love.
Know that his brief time of illness is now forgotten, a shadow erased by the light of eternity. And I’d like to think—if there are motorcycles in Heaven—Jeff’s already figured out how to ride them on the streets of gold, wind in his hair, joy in his soul, and a grin on his face.
Take comfort in knowing that he’ll be waiting to give the biggest hugs when everyone gets there — for now, his memory will live on and in each of you. Biggest hugs.
