Jack Joseph Ringgenberg

Jack Joseph Ringgenberg, 77, of the Eastside of Des Moines, passed away peacefully on August 9, 2026, after battling cancer.
Jack was born September 21, 1948, in Des Moines, Iowa to Lester and Bernedene Ringgenberg. He grew up in the Saylor Township area and attended Saydel High School. Jack was the devoted husband to Marilyn Ringgenberg for 48 wonderful years until Marilyn’s death in 2025.
Jack worked for John Deere as a crane operator for many years and retired in 2007. He had a passion for cars and motorcycles and attended the Sturgis motorcycle rally a dozen times in 15 years. He found great joy in camping, always had a wisecrack or a comeback for any situation, and was always a jokester.
He is survived by his son Rob Ringgenberg, grandson Nathan Ringgenberg, sister Patti Tyler, sister-in-law Sheila (Tony) Catron, sister-in-law Jody Ringgenberg, along with many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife Marilyn, parents Lester and Bernedene Ringgenberg, and his siblings Mike Swinehart, Rex Ringgenberg, Sheila Lincoln Ringgenberg, and Beth Ringgenberg.
Services will be held on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m., followed by funeral service at 1:00 p.m. Burial will take place at Pine Hill Cemetery after the funeral.
