Jacqueline "Jackie" Shea

Jacqueline “Jackie” Joyce Shea, 85, of Des Moines, Iowa, passed away peacefully at home on October 18, 2025, following a short illness.

Jackie was born on September 8, 1940, to Deloss and Mae (Butler) Baker in Des Moines. She was a proud 1958 graduate of Lincoln High School. On April 8, 1961, Jackie married her best friend, Jim. In her younger years, Jackie and Jim could often be found out on the dance floor, enjoying their nights dancing together.

Jackie had a vibrant spirit and many joys in life. She loved playing cards—especially Bridge online—and was always up for a trip to Prairie Meadows Casino. But above all, Jackie loved her family deeply, cherishing every moment spent with her grandchildren and great-granddaughters.

Jackie is survived by her beloved husband of 64 years, Jim; her children, Brandy (Rick) Warrick and Brad Shea; her grandchildren, Shea (Megan) and Cassidy; her four great-granddaughters; and her sister, Judy Hester.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Deloss and Estella Baker; her sisters, Dolores Duff and Sandy McCaw; and her brother, Dwaine Baker.

The family will be greeting friends from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 26, 2025, at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home; 5400 SW 9th Street, Des Moines. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, October 27, 2025, at Christ the King Catholic Church; 5711 SW 9th Street, Des Moines, with a luncheon following the service. Jackie will be laid to rest at Jordan Cemetery in West Des Moines.
