Jayda Burton
December 06, 2012 — September 20, 2025
Jayda Berniece Burton, age 12, entered into the joy of her Savior, Jesus Christ, and was welcomed into Heaven with open arms on September 20, 2025. She now walks the streets of gold with Him. Though her time on earth was too brief, her light touched countless lives and will continue to shine in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
A beloved daughter, Jayda was a radiant beauty whose joy and excitement overflowed to everyone around her. She loved her family and shared a special bond with her siblings.
Jayda was always over-the-top excited about life, delighting in even the smallest gifts and moments. Her enthusiasm and wonder reminded everyone around her of the beauty in everyday blessings. She had a gift for love that reached beyond family—everyone who met her fell in love with her immediately. She was quick to show affection, always willing to share, and even strangers felt loved in her presence. She was unforgetable to anyone she met.
She lived her life with joy and energy, always keeping everyone on their toes. Her favorite color was blue and she found delight in youth group, riding horses, dance (specifically hip-hop) and choir. Her beautiful singing voice lifted the hearts of those around her. She even once grabbed the microphone at her sister Julia's wedding reception, surprising everyone and belted out an enthusiastic rendition of "Girl on Fire", beautifully.
Jayda was a shooting star—brilliant, breathtaking, and unforgettable—who lit up the lives of all who were blessed to know her. Though her time was short, her impact was eternal.
Jayda’s earthly presence will be missed beyond words, but her family and friends rest in the blessed hope that they will see her again in eternity, whole and rejoicing with her Savior. Until then, her memory will remain a source of comfort, strength, and inspiration.
Jayda is survived by her parents, Jasen and Shanya Burton; siblings, Julia (Britt) Arcelo-Swanson, Joven and Josephine Arcelo, Jacqueline, Jessalyn and Jasen "Boman" Burton; paternal grandparents, Angela and Brian Anderson and Dennis and Rhonda Burton; great-grandmother, Barbara Jester; aunt, Natasha (Chad) Baker; maternal grandmother, Vicky Lindsey; aunts, Jessalyn (Mark) Kline, Mary Lindsey; birth mother, Nancy Viles; sisters, Stormy "Robin" and Cheyenne Viles; grandmother, Kim Kent, great-grandfather, Larry Viles; aunts, Jasmine Davis and Ashley Thomas; as well as many cousins and friends.

I was her classmate and best friend. We have many great memories such as going to the park and just talking about life, listening to music on my MP3 player together, and playing outside at recess. I really miss her and I can't believe she was gone this soon. I know she in heaven with the angels.
