I want to say how sorry I was to hear of the passing of your Mother Jeannette (Sally) Porter. She was my first cousin through our fathers. We spent many happy holidays and summer vacations together at our grandparents home in Oskaloosa. As we grew older and went our separate ways we kept in touch through other family members. After my retirement we spent 5 summers in Iowa and always made a point of reaching out to Sally and Sandy and Donna. Yes, she was always Sally to me and always will be. I could call her and say I was coming through Des Moines and wanted to stop and see her. She would open her home to my husband and myself for several hours of reminiscing about our childhood while serving us homemade lunches or deli treats. I have many fond memories of her and always her warm hospitality and wonderful sense of humor.
