Jennette Marie Berge

Jennette Marie Berge, age 72, passed away on Thursday, May 7, 2026, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center.
Jennette was born on February 28, 1954, in Wagner, South Dakota, to Marvin and Betty (Smith) Berge. She attended Roosevelt High School and spent most of her life in Des Moines. Jennette deeply loved her family and especially enjoyed celebrating holidays together. She loved the outdoors and had many interests including fishing, baking, gardening, antiquing, and decorating for every holiday. She also enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, games, shopping, and listening to 70s music.
Jennette is survived by her sons, Jamie (Winnie) Lee Berge and Alan Berge Thomas; her godson, Ryan Stinson; seven dear grandchildren; six nephews, Ryan Stinson, Billy Dent, Matt Dent, Dustin Dent, Ben Berge, and Beau Berge; and her sisters, Jackie Stinson and Susan Berge.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Dennis Berge; and her son, Johnny Berge Thomas.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 8, 2026 at Lutheran Church of Hope, 925 Jordan Creek Parkway in West Des Moines. The service will be livestreamed and available on the day of the service below.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Jennette’s sister, Jackie Stinson, to assist with burial expenses.
