Jerry Saffell

Jerry Lee Saffell, 53, of Des Moines, passed away Saturday, April 4, 2026, in Ocala, FL.

He was born February 16, 1973 in Springfield, IL, to Katherine and David Saffell.
Jerry graduated from Motorcycle Mechanics Institute in Orlando, Florida, as a marine mechanic in 2011. Jerry then went on to be the owner and operator of JLS Marine Technologies for 13 years. In his free time Jerry enjoyed boating, fishing, scuba diving, baseball, football, and the company of good friends.

He is survived by his best friend and companion, Sage; his daughter, Kayla; mother, Kathy Saffell; sister, Jamie Brown (Mark Perez); and many friends.

The family will be greeting friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home; 5400 SW 9th Street, Des Moines.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the family in memory of Jerry.
