Jesica Smith
November 24, 1983 — April 02, 2024
Jesica Marie Smith, 40, went to be with the Lord on April 2, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer, and surrounded by loved ones who will continue to honor her legacy by living their lives to the fullest.
She was born in Des Moines, IA, on November 24, 1983, to Bryan and Renee Hainline. She was fortunate to be raised in a home with loving parents, brother, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. She enjoyed 15 years of dance at Betty Hill. Jesica graduated from Johnston High School in 2002 and Iowa State University in 2006 with a major in Psychology and a minor in Sociology. She began her career at Principal and has held various roles for the past 17 years.
In 2008 she married her husband Tyler and became the loving mother of two children, Sophie Grace (2010) and Max Russell (2012).
Jesica loved her entire family and friends. She worried about them, rooted for them, protected them, forgave them, and always kept loving them. To say that her family and friends will miss her greatly is an understatement.
Jesica is survived by her husband of 15 years, her daughter, her son, her parents, her brother Blake (Heather) Hainline, 5 nieces, and 1 nephew.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 -8:00 p.m., on Friday, April 12, 2024 at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens Funeral home located at 121 NW 60th Avenue, Des Moines IA 50313. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 13, 2024, at Eastside Church of the Nazarene, 1451 E. 25th St, Des Moines, with burial to follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive visitors before the service from 9 to 10:00 a.m., also at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Can Do Cancer, or Greater Life Church in memory of Jesica. Condolences may be expressed at www.HamiltonsFuneralHome.com.

To Jessica's family -- It was a pleasure to work with Jessica at PGI. She was the kindest person and always smiling. She was always willing to help out and go above and beyond. I was saddened to hear she had passed away. You all now have a new angel to watch over you. Hold on to your memories. Prayers.

Bryan, Renee, Blake, Tyler, Sophia, and Max.
We never know Gods plan, nor would the pain be lessened if we did know.
May you feel the power from our prayers specifically for each one of you.
Jessica always had a smile, and the cutest giggle/laugh. She was respectful, kind and clearly loved the Lord at a very young age.
His arms opened wide and said, “Well done my child.”

Dear family, so saddened to hear. Blessed to know she is in the arms of our Lord and Savior. I pray that God gives you peace beyond measure, for I know how much a hole it leaves in our lives as we now go on. Remember the good times, it helps. Laugh and cry as they come to mind. Love Aunt Connie Hainline

She fought a courageous battle. I'll never forget how she went to kickboxing after receiving one of her first rounds of chemo. What a beautiful soul. Prayers continue for the family in the days and months ahead. 🙏
