JoAnne Rieman

JoAnne Rieman, 83, passed away Sunday, August 17, 2025 at Accura HealthCare of Newton. She was born August 21, 1941 to Ivan and Maxine (Bailey) Ruble in Iowa City.

JoAnne enjoyed spending time with her friends in the Red Hat Society and adored her pets. She was an avid gardener and collected nutcrackers.

JoAnne is survived by her sons, Hansel (Jessica) Rieman and Nelson Rieman; four grandchildren; and host of other beloved family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and father of her children, Paul Rieman.

A celebration of life will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street, Des Moines. She will later be interred at Sunset Cemetery.
