Juan Munoz Munoz

Juan Munoz Munoz, age 69, passed away Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines.

Juan was born January 5, 1957, in Leon, Guanajuato, to Pedro and Teodula Munoz. He was a hardworking man who believed in the dignity of honest labor and took pride in providing for his family. He found joy in riding motorcycles, playing soccer growing up in Mexico, and later watching Liga MX and his grandchildren’s games.

Juan was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Family was the center of his life, and he was a devoted father who cherished time with his loved ones, including his dogs, Charlie and Tail. He enjoyed cooking for his family and bringing people together. He had an outgoing personality, a warm sense of humor, and would talk with anyone he met. Juan will be deeply missed and remembered for the joy and laughter he brought to those around him.

He is survived by his children, Sharalyn Sleeping Bear, Garrison Little Bald Eagle, Pedro (Valentina) Munoz, Juan Munoz, and Francisco Munoz; grandchildren, Keanu, Cristina, Diesel, and Juan Luis; sisters, Maria, Esthela, Raquel, San Juana, and Martha; brother Galdino; and a host of nieces, nephews, other extended family and friends.

Juan was preceded in death by his wife, Sherry Munoz; brother, Placido; parents, Pedro and Teodula Munoz; daughter, Te Amo; and grandson, T. Jiovannie.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, March 9, 2026, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 3301 Ashworth Road, West Des Moines, followed by burial at Glendale Cemetery after the service.
