Judy Odell Peters, age 81, passed away Friday, July 10, 2026.

Judy was born May 25, 1945, in Kansas City, Missouri to Perry Pitchlyn and Osceolia Milan Pitchlyn.

She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed watching western movies.

She is survived by her sons, Elmer Peters and Mark Peters as well as a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Perry and Osceolia Pitchlyn and her daughter, Cynthia Hinton.

Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 1:00 p.m., Friday, August 7, 2026, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to the family in loving memory of Judy.
