Karen Archer

Karen Joyce Archer, 85, passed away March 16, 2026. She was born May 21, 1940 to her parents Emmet and Minni Anderson in Blakesburg, Iowa.

She spent her life as a homemaker taking care of her husband and children. Karen also worked at Central Tractor for a few years. She enjoyed bowling, watching sports, tractor shows, and most of all spending time with her family.

Karen is survived by her husband, Jim Archer; daughter, Sharron Hancock; grandchildren, Steve Archer, Jon Hancock, and Stacey Hancock; and sisters, Phyllis Regnier and Jan Genochio.
She was preceded in death by her son, Bobby Archer; parents; brothers, Jerry Anderson and Darrell Anderson; and sister, Dorothy Griffin.

Family will greet friends from 11:00 to 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 25, 2026 at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue in Des Moines. Memorial Service to follow at 12:00 p.m. followed by burial at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery, one NE 60th Avenue in Des Moines.
