Kenneth (Ken) Stuart
August 08, 1945 — July 16, 2025
Kenneth (Ken) Clarence Stuart (79) passed away on July 16,2025 at 2:00 AM from a glioblastoma brain tumor.
Ken spent his life in Altoona, Iowa, stepping away only to serve his country in Vietnam. He could be found being the friendliest smile at the HyVee where he worked for over 60 years, at church events, trying to beat his record 299 bowling game, or walking his clubs down the golf course.
His greatest joy was his family. His wife Linda of nearly 50 years who was always by his side, daughter Christina (Chad) and son Troy (Haley). However, nothing lit up his life like his grandchildren Jackson, Joseph, and Logan (James, Joshua & Madison) He could always be found attending the kids’ events and performances or playing cornhole or cards with them at home.
Ken and his family loved to travel and made friends wherever they went. Linda and he road tripped across the country yearly and they saw much of the US over the years.
He became everybody’s surrogate “papa” whether you were a friend of his kids or a customer in the store he was always ready with a hug and a smile. He lived his life showing us what love can and should look like to all he met.
“Love each other as I have loved you.” John 15:12
A private graveside service will be held at Iowa Veterans Cemetery, 34024 Veterans Memorial Drive, Adel, Iowa.

Linda and Family,
I was saddened to hear about Ken. I have such fond memories of all those years we lived as next-door neighbors. . .watching Chris and Troy grow up, the block parties, Ken's milestone birthday party, and the Good News Club (where Petey thought he was the guest of honor at each one) and the way you and Ken were there for us during Ernie's final days. I am deeply grateful to have had such good neighbors! Love and Prayers, Ann Beetner

My father, Ken Dunlavy, spoke very highly of Ken. He enjoyed working with him at Hy-Vee and bowling with him. I'm sure they are bowling up in heaven together once again. Our sincere condolences to the family.

Kenny will be missed but he will be with his savior in Heaven.
I Graduated with Ken in 63. Played an around of golf at Hiawatha Golf course in Minneapolis with him and saw the Vikings play the Baltimore Colts and saw Johnny Unitas break his passing record while throwing a touchdown in Minnesota. He was very good at bowling and played golf in high school. And loved the Lord!!!! Praying for Ken’s family and loved ones. With the Lord’s love and prayers. ✝️✝️✝️
