Kevin Michael Wilkinson, 56, of Des Moines, Iowa passed away on Friday, May 8, 2026.

Kevin was born on April 8, 1970, in Des Moines, Iowa to Janice Wilkinson and Joseph Wilkinson. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Wilkinson.

He is survived by his mother, Janice Wilkinson; his brother, Brian Wilkinson; his sister, Dana Malfara; along with many extended family members, dear friends, and the countless people whose lives he touched throughout the years.

Kevin graduated from Dowling High School in 1988 and attended some college. He worked in sales and was known for his strong work ethic, outgoing personality, and ability to connect with just about anyone he met. He had a larger-than-life presence, an infectious laugh, and a charisma that drew people in. He was deeply loved by his family and friends and will be remembered for the joy and energy he brought wherever he went.

Kevin was a devoted sports fan and especially loved the Iowa Hawkeyes and the Miami Dolphins. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, music, concerts, and spending time with the people he cared about most. He also had a lifelong love for animals, especially his dogs, who brought him great happiness over the years.

Kevin’s memory will live on through the stories, laughter, and love he shared with so many. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Memorial donations in Kevin’s honor may be made to the Animal Rescue League of Iowa (ARL).

Services will be held on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at St. Augustin Catholic Church, 545 42nd Street, Des Moines, Iowa. Visitation will be held from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:30 a.m. There will be fellowship and refreshments following Mass.
