Lillian “Lilli” Elise Camp, age 38, passed away on September 21, 2025, after a brief illness. She was surrounded by her parents and compassionate care at the Mayo Clinic Hospital, Saint Mary’s Campus, Rochester Minnesota.

Lilli was born on April 30, 1987, in San Jose, California, to Harry and Kathleen Camp. She grew up alongside her beloved sister, Crystal Camp, and was educated in the San Jose Unified School District. A proud graduate of Leigh High School, she pursued higher education with passion and determination. She earned her Associate of Science degree from Des Moines Area Community College, her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Drake University, and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Mercy College. A dedicated scholar, she was also a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing.

Answering her calling in healthcare, Lilli worked as a Cardiac Critical Care Nurse in the Intensive Care Unit at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. She was admired by her colleagues for her professionalism and skill, and she was deeply cherished by her patients and their families for her compassion, empathy, and dedication.

Lilli was a tremendously loving, talented, and generous person. She had a passion for travel, road trips, and life’s simple pleasures, relaxing at the beach, camping under the stars, exploring thrift shops for hidden treasures, and creating delicious meals in her kitchen. She was devoted to her family, her patients, and her community, and to know her was to feel warmth, kindness, and joy.

She is survived by her parents, Harry and Kathleen Camp, Harlingen Tx; her sister, Crystal Camp; aunts and uncles, Gene Williams, Wayne Camp, Des Moines Ia; Murriel (LaStarza) Evans, Elkgrove Ca; Herman (Della) Ericksen, Don (Maryann) Ericksen, Marge (Dan) Cooter, New York; Theresa Ohe, Gilroy Ca; Neal (Nicole) Ericksen, Nevada; numerous cousins; and her loyal dog, Sable.

Lilli was preceded in death by her grandparents, Harry (Elise) Camp and Herman (Lucile) Ericksen; her aunt, Audrey Marshall; uncles, Thor Ericksen and John Marvin Camp; her dog, Lunar; and her beloved cats, Solo and Soubi.

Visitation will begin at11:00- 12:00 p.m. for family and 12:00-1:00pm for the public on Saturday, October 11, 2025, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 p.m. at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. There will be a repass at a family home following the service.

Lilli’s life, though far too short, leaves behind an enduring legacy of love, compassion, and kindness. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her family, friends, colleagues, and all who were touched by her light.
