Lili M. Wyman

Lili Marlane Wyman, age 75, passed away surrounded by her family on Sunday, August 3, 2025, at Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines

Lili was born February 6, 1950, in Des Moines, Iowa to Roy and Arlene (Cannon) Wyman. She was a hard-working person and devoted over 30 years to Des Moines Public Schools working in food service as a beloved “lunch lady”. Lili inspired others in the family to follow in her footsteps. She was a wonderful cook and catered many people’s weddings and family get-togethers.

Lili didn’t let anything hold her back. She was very proud to have earned her GED in her 40s and was a role model to her family. She showed her love in her own way, and if she loved you, you knew it. She made each person feel special and cared for. Her family was her everything.

She enjoyed the little things in life like watching her favorite television shows with an ice-cold Pepsi. Her favorite was “Cops”.

She is survived by her son, Allen “Rick” Wyman (and his children, Nicholas, Nathan, Natalie); her son, Zachary Wyman (and his son, Zander); her daughter, Marnie Wyman (and her children, Harper, Lyric). Lili is also survived by her siblings, Thomas Wyman and Rita Wyman; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other extended family and many friends.

Lili was preceded in death by her parents, Arlene and Roy Wyman and her brother, Craig Wyman.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Saturday, October 4, 2025, at Norwoodville Community Center, 3077 NE 46th Avenue, Des Moines, IA 50317. The family invites all guests to wear purple.
