Lark Eckerman

Lark Eve Eckerman (Barker), 72, of Des Moines, Iowa died March 24, 2026 at Accure Care Facility after struggling from complications caused from a stoke that left her partially paralyzed 10 years prior.

Lark, daughter of Maxine and Theodore Barker was born August 7, 1953. She was the youngest of 5 children, James Barker, Larry Barker, Sandra Stotts, and Theodore Barker. Lark was a cab driver for 29 years and ended her driving career with Link Associates at the age of 62 after she had her stroke.

She enjoyed cross word puzzles, reading, and just being all around goofy. Lark will be deeply missed by her friends and family.

She is survived by her daughters, Jeannetta Groves and Stephanie Myers; and nieces, Kristy Portillo, Cecelia Helmus, and Melissa Barker.

Per Lark’s wishes no formal services will be held at this time.
