Linda M. Randazzo
October 16, 1954 — January 17, 2026
Linda Marie Randazzo was born on October 16, 1954, at Chanute Air Force Base in Rantoul, Illinois, to William and Janet Plumb. The eldest of five children, Linda grew up in Newton, Iowa, where she took great joy in being a big sister and caring for her younger siblings.
While in college, Linda moved to Des Moines and met Robert Randazzo. They were married on August 30, 1975. Together, Robert and Linda welcomed three children into their family: Robbie, Jana, and Soloman.
Linda’s heart and life’s work were dedicated to serving others. While she did this formally as a teacher, her ministry of kindness extended far beyond the classroom. She never failed to stop and talk to a stranger, pull her car over to help someone in need, or stay late after school to support a student or colleague.
Linda loved Jesus, and her life was built firmly upon her faith. Her desire for everyone to know the love of Christ was the true "why" behind the way she served.
Linda passed away peacefully at home in Norwalk, Iowa, on January 17, 2026, following complications of Alzheimer’s. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Billy.
She is deeply missed by her husband, Robert; her children and their spouses, Robbie (Ami), Jana (Courtney), and Soloman (Bailey); and her siblings, Rita, David (Donna), and Jonathan (Angie). Her legacy lives on through her eight grandchildren—Zoe, Mia, Lucia, Russell, William, Lila, Ricky, and Laney—as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
The family will greet friends from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home; 5400 SW 9th Street, Des Moines. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 12:00 p.m., at the funeral home. Linda will be laid to rest at Glendale Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Venmo @givejoy-desmoines
GiveJoy/Twister is a local non-profit that Linda served at for years right up until she could no longer participate.

So sorry for your loss of such a great woman! She was my teacher in middle school and I whole heartedly believe I wouldn’t be the woman I am today if she wasn’t in my life. I will forever be thankful of her. It breaks my heart that she is gone. But I will continue giving back to children what she gave back to me. (I do the same work now she did) prayers to the family.
