Mickey Joe Inglis, 77, passed away Thursday, June 19, 2025, at his home in Des Moines.
Mickey was born November 3, 1947, in Colfax, Iowa to Forest and Lorene (Chantrill) Inglis. He was a lifelong resident of the Des Moines area. He was employed prior to his retirement with Material Handling Innovations as a Hoist and Crane Inspector. Mickey enjoyed staying active and was a member of Keeping it Country, Country Dancers, and The Wild Bunch. He loved going to casinos, concerts, and the Iowa State Fair. He was an avid Iowa State Cyclones fan and liked the Good Guys Car Club shows.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia “Pat” Inglis; daughter, Tammy (Marty) Prine; grandsons, Brandon (Becky) and Jack; great-grandsons, Mathew and Tate; and sisters, Connie Inglis and Trudy (Harlan Freerksen) Inglis. He is also survived by his nephew, Gary (Jennifer) Steenblock and their sons, Zachary, Andrew and Nathan; nephew, Patrick (Ana) Rodenborn, special great-niece, Kirsta Rose and great-nephew, Patrick II; nephew, John Bailiff; nieces, Lisa Bailiff, Melinda Bailiff, Julie Lee and Pam (Michael) McDowell; sister-in-law, Geri Rodenborn; brother-in-law, William Purscell; Mickey’s dog, Babe; and many other extended family and friends.
Mickey was preceded in death by his parents, Forest and Lorene Inglis and his sister, Janice Bailiff.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m., followed immediately by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, June 26, 2025, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. There will be a luncheon after the service, also at the funeral home. Private family burial will take place at a later date.
