Margaret Streeter

Margaret Ann Streeter, 88, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Sunday, August 10, 2025.

Margaret was born August 27, 1936, in Winterset, Iowa to Charles Eugene and Nora Marie (Austin) Evans.

She had many different careers during her working years, including working for W. P. Johnson Company, with the Head Start program through Des Moines Public Schools, and for Cobbs Manufacturing, Co. She was a member of Union Park Christian Church.

She is survived by her husband, Robert E. Streeter, Sr.; daughters, Christine Horn, Susan Bellis, and Naomi Gordon; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Nora Evans; her first husband, Leslie E. Streeter, Sr.; one biological son, four step-sons, and six step-daughters.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Burial will take place at Laurel Hill Cemetery on Monday, August 18, 2025, at 10:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to the family in loving memory of Margaret.
