Marilyn Hogue
January 02, 1935 — June 07, 2025
Marilyn McAninch Hogue, a devoted mother, cherished grandma (Nona), and dear friend to many passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by loved ones on June 7, 2025 at the age of 90.
Born to George and Gladys McAninch on January 2, 1935, Marilyn lived a life filled with faith, compassion, strength, and a tremendous amount of love for her family. She graduated from Norwalk High School in 1953 and shortly after met Don who she married on July 6, 1954. The two of them spent their first years of marriage in Germany while Don was serving in the Army. In 1965 they welcomed their first daughter, Jill, and in 1969 welcomed their second daughter, Julie. Marilyn enjoyed being a stay-at-home mom, being there for every moment of her girls' lives. When the girls were grown, Marilyn went on to work at McAninch Corporation where she worked for 22 years and touched the lives of many.
Marilyn's greatest pride and joy was being "Nona" to her two granddaughters Lauren and Brooke. They were her world. She enjoyed doing any and all things with them, watching them achieve so many of life's milestones. She was especially looking forward to being "Great Nona" to the little boy Brooke and Josh are expecting.
Marilyn is survived by her daughters Julie (Dan) Kruse of Carlisle, IA and Jill (Kent) Krause of Lincoln, NE; granddaughters Brooke (Josh) Groves of Carlisle, IA and Lauren Kruse of Carlisle, IA; great-grandson Baby Groves arriving in September, and special companion Bill Miklus.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, George and Gladys McAninch; husband, Don Hogue; sister, Joy King; brothers, George A. McAninch and Dwayne McAninch, and sister in-law Glennis McAninch.
