Mary Felicia Leon, 68, passed away September 21, 2025 surrounded by her loving family.
Mary was born March 26, 1957 to Bernard and Patricia Leon in Des Moines, Iowa. Raised in West Des Moines, Mary attended Sacred Heart Grade School and Dowling Catholic High School. She moved to Arizona in 1986, where she built a fulfilling life before relocating to the Ankeny area in 2021. She enjoyed a long and dedicated career at Bank of America, retiring after more than 20 years of service. Following her retirement, Mary devoted herself to caring for her parents and sister, a role she embraced with love and compassion.
In her free time, Mary found joy in reading, watching movies, and staying connected with loved ones through long phone calls. She was an enthusiastic supporter of her grandchildren, nieces and nephews, never missing a chance to cheer them on in their various sports activities. Above all, Mary was deeply family-oriented and cherished every moment spent with those she loved.
She is survived by her children, Andrew (Laura) Leon, Angela (Daniel) Peschiutta, and Amanda (Dan) Goodman; grandchildren, Bridger, Reese, Mia, Lilly, Jack, and Abby; great-grandchildren, Kinsley, Stanley, and Jonah; siblings, Nicholas (Delia) Leon, Bernard (Lynn) Leon, Julie Leon, Lynna (Robert) Frost, and Paul (Angie) Leon; 16 nieces and nephews; and 17 great-nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents; brother Patrick Leon; and great-granddaughter, Lyanna.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, September 27, 2025 at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway in West Des Moines with visitation one hour prior. A private family burial will be held at Resthaven Cemetery in West Des Moines, IA.

I am so extremely sorry to hear of the loss of Mary. We hung around each other since Freshman’s. She was part of my High School Wedding. I have the greatest memories is her. Cherish all the amazing memories you have of her. You are all in my prayers. Love Dawn Whipple Evans
